Subject : How to add my name in Property Card after my father's death ? My father passed away in 2012. His death was sudden, hence there was no WILL. I am his only daughter. There is a property(my father's own house) in my father's name which I now want to transfer to my name. My father and mother got divorced before several years of my father's death. Then she married again(Also before his death). At that time I was minor(about 7 years old). Now I am Adult(26 years old) and came to know that my uncle (my father's brother) is trying to acquire all my father's properties on his name. My Questions : 1) What should I do to transfer Society(Co. Operative Society) Share Certificates on my name? Also want to Add my name in Property Card. 2) After my name will be added in Property Card, Will Co. Operative Society transfer share certificates to my name ? 3) Approx. how many days it will take to add name in property card ? 4) How much Stamp duty and other charges will be there ? 5) how to change name in property documents after death?

You are sole survivor of your father, whatever property of your father.
You acquired said property as per Hindu succession act.
Your uncle does not have any right in your father property.
You can apply in city survey and co- operative society for entering your name with pedigree and death certificate of your father.
It will take 60 days in city survey records.
