Hindu widow's rights in first husband property if she remarried
01-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
Does hindu widow with no children have rights in joint family property of first deceased husband ? If she remarried
Normally, once the husband dies, the widow has full rights on the joint family properties of the first deceased husband. she should claim for the same within 3 years from the date of death of the husband, She will get full share of her husband's properties.
The question of remarriage is applicable only for maintenance. The rights of the widow arises on the day of demise of the husband and it does not diminish on remarriage of the wife.
