Hindu Succession Act related daughter right
27-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
I'm a woman. My father was died in the year 1986. I have 2 male and 2 female siblings. When my dad passed away then I was 14 years old. Can I file a partition suit for my dad's house? and Do I have equal right on my father's house like other heirs?
Yes. if your father was the owner of some property then after the death of your father, you became a co-owner with your other brothers , sisters and also mother. This succession is only for Hindus. You don't have mention your religion. If you are Hindu by religion then you are co-owner by way of parental inheritance. You have every right to filed a suit for partition of the property, left by your father.
Thanks.
