Halted construction by previous landlord, what recourse available

13-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
Dear Sir, We are staying in our land from 23years with all property tax and electricity bills and water bills. But now when we started our first floor and second floor construction. The previous land owner made a complaint that we have grabber his land and making illegal construction to Ghmc and then we received a notice from GHMc. We had notary documents which are signed by previous owner but not registered and also we did not take permission. So now we applied a stay order and we received a status quo . so kindly please suggest next to do and start our construction. Regarding notary documents we are two previous land owners signed copies.. And at last end user is us...

By notary documents, you will not get title (ownership) over the property. Though you have got statusquo from Court against GHMC, your call will not stand further. Hence, it is better to meet the previous owner and convince him to register the sale deed in sub registrar office. If he refused to do so, it is better to file specific performance case before the civil court. You can ask the court to register the sale deed (in the place of previous vendors) since you have already paid the total consideration amount. Since property matters are complicated, it is better to contact me through Lawrato.
