Gift registration from mother in law to husband

Hindu - My mother in law has gift deed with no consideration her property to my husband 13 years back and 2 years back my husband passed away now will my mother in law also become as legal heir for her share or not or should she make release deed in favour of me for the transfer of the property

As mentioned by you in the above mentioned question yes your mother in law still holds her share in the said property as being the mother she holds the right the right of share in sons property.

The Hindu Succession Act, which lays down rules of succession and inheritance among Hindus in India, says that if a man passes away without leaving a will, his property will be equally distributed among his widow, his children and his mother.

Yes to release her share from the property you have to make a release deed. Wherein you will be 100% owner of the said property

As per your query in the event of death of her son your mother-in-law will also be one of the legal heir. if you want transfer the property in your name you need to heirship certificate from the Court.

yes ideally your mother in law is also entitled into the share of the property.
however, if she releases her share in the property in your favour by way of a deed of relinquishment and pays the necessary stamp duty then you will be entitled to the property.
