Gift my own acquired property to mother
22-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
Can I gift my property to my mother but the property is in my married name and I use my maiden name now after divorce so us there any legal hassle
You sure can gift your self acquired property to any person including your mother. It won't matter what name appears on property documents i.e. your maiden or married name. Name doesn't change after divorce by itself. You may require gazette publication about name change. Only thing to see is that property must not qualify to be benami i.e. contribution from husband's side while acquiring it.
