Flat Possession Delayed Beyond Agreement Date

My flat possession is delayed by over 2 months (due end of Dec 2024). The builder claims everything is done but no OC received. They offer soft possession in 10-20 days. Should I accept soft possession? Can I claim compensation before or after possession? What is the best option? Agreement date for possession is 31 Dec 2024.
Since the building is complete and the builder is about to obtain OC it is advisable to take the possession and be on the safer side. However if you wish to seek compensation for delayed possession you can surely file an application before the competent authority and claim damages in the way of the licence fees paid for living on rental basis. However you will have to keep patience for the legal proceeding as the same will take its own pace..
