Flat bought by husband and father in law can brother in law claim flat

My husband having a flat on his name. This property is purchased by 50% contribution by father in law and 50 by my husband. Till date my husband's brother is leaving with us since 7 years. Father in law kept one home is for him also which is now in redevelopment project. Even for both the sons homes are devided in equally. My brother in law showing rights on my husbands house. Please guide

It is not clear whether the 50% is ancestral or self earned of your father in law. Still in any case the brother of ur husband has his right and share on the 50% of your father in law share . Only thing if it is selfearned then your father in law may decide by making registered will whether to give hos share to his son or not.
