Electricity meter in Kolkata, CESC AREA

We have two shops and one residential flat to be let out. We reside in the same premises accommodating two flats. One meter is there in the name of my mother, one to be installed in the name of my elder brother and one to be installed in my name. Now we want to install commercial meters in two shops. Is it possible to install those in the name of any of us? Secondly , if we permit the tenant to install the meters in the shops, will any ownership issue can arise in future if we enter into long term agreement with the tenants? If so, what is the resolution.
It is a well settled principle laid down by various High Courts as well as Supreme Court that installation of electricity meter in somebody's name neither confers any title nor any right is transferred. However, it certainly implies possession of the person in whose name the connection is provided. Hence it's better to apply in you own names and the authorities are liable to provide the connection forthwith. All the best and Regards.
