Duplex flat on last floor of apartment

Hi,
We are planning to buy a flat that is on 4th floor. This apartment has internal stairs to climb to 2 rooms and a small terrace on the next floor. It has main door only on 4th floor.u
My question is this society is approved only for 4 floors. So is the apartment considered illegal as it has internal stairs for 2 rooms in a level up?
Please confirm.

You will have to look at the sanctioned plan to figure out the response to this query. If the said structure is approved then its alright else you could be in trouble for building violation. There are many instances wherein builders make unauthorized constructions therefore would advise caution before you purchase the same.
