Does wife have right on father's self acquired property after divorce

24-Oct-2023 (In Property Law)
I am divorced from my wife under MCD. We have daughter. Custody is with her. I am Christian. Can my wife ask for my property (which I will be taking from my father - it's self acquired by my father. please note - for purchasing this father's property money was also taken by selling the ancestral property about 15 years back) for daughter from me. Question is if my daughter asks then it's ok. I will give her. If my ex wife asks then I don't want to give.

Dear Sir,

if daughter asks for share then you are ready to give, but If your ex wife asks then don't want to give.

Its both are your wishes.

According to law your ex wife can't claim share in your property because your marital relation between you & your ex wife is already dissolved, ultimately her right of property is also dissolved.

If your ex wife sue you in the court for partition then you can take defence by producing copy of divorce decree.
