Do I have a right on my parents property

13-Jun-2023 (In Property Law)
I am a christian. My father owns a house in Mumbai. The property is in my fathers mothers and brothers name. In the same way my parents helped my brother to purchase another property and there too the property is in my brothers fathers and mothers name. Do i have a right to these properties. My mother has expired. If yes what are my rights...

See any property that belongs to your father and brother can be disposed off by them as per their wish and you can't interfere with their right to do so. However, if the same is causing hindrance to you even in sustaining and maintaining yourself then you can file a petition under section 125 CR.P.C against your father to maintain you.

Dear Querist, If your parents name appears on the property and also they have paid money towards the consideration amount then you have all the right to the said property. but if it was an understanding that there are just formally added as parties then it depends upon you whether you want to oblige the said understanding or ask for your claim.
