Dispute over Ancestoral Property

Property in Goa, purchased by grand father who 6 children. Son (X) decides to stay with his family on the property. The rest, live in India and later on some siblings move abroad. After 40 yrs the other siblings decides the property has to be split and each of them gets their equal shares. Son (X) deceased, pays house taxes, electricity bills, water tax and maintains the property all these yrs. Son (X) family who lives on the property is demanding half the property. Do they have the right?

Hello, I have perused your query. It is a well settled principle of law that states that ancestral property has to be divided equally among all the legal heirs. Therefore, single heir cannot demand half of the share in estate of the estate leaver. It is unlawful For any further information feel free to contact me. Regards
