Deed of Rectification need original or not

Hi Sir/Madam, There is a small spelling error in my name in the original agreement(sale of deed) of my new flat (which will be just handed over). I would like to execute the deed of rectification. But the problem is the original agreement is with the bank because it is mortgaged. Kindly advise if I can proceed with a copy or not. My builder is asking for the original document.

First you must rectify your instrument in Registrar office.Later you can show it to builder.There shall be copying charges incurred for rectification of agreement.Therefore rectification is better for you.

This is my response to you:
1. You will need to do a rectification deed;
2. Borrow the sale deed by giving the bank an undertaking stating that you are borrowing it for a specific time period and the same will be returned soon;
3. You will have to register the sale deed with the rectification deed;
4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.
