Compensation for Land acquisition by PWD Kerala for widening road.

12-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
Our village is a rural area which does not have any private or public bus facilities. There is a Panchayath road which connects the bus routes nearby. Now as a development towards our village the Panchayath road was taken over by PWD and started widening the road from 5m to 8m(approx). In that work while widening several lands were acquired and part of many houses were destroyed. While approaching for compensation political parties refused about this and requested to be calm so that the work will get completed for the development and other bus facilities. So I want to know that is there any facility to get the compensation for whole land owners of my village who's land are aquired.

No land, for any public purpose, can be acquired save through the due process of law. Certainly, you can move the court and obtain an injunction if the property is forcefully acquired. However, it is matter within your discretion whether you should make a sacrifice for the public good. The political parties can convince, but not compel.
