Clarification regarding partition of land without pattayam

24-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
My grandparents were in custody of 1acre land in Iritty Taluk, which was bought in early 60's. They are having 4 heirs. Unfortunately they both passed away some years back. The property is not yet partitioned. The issue right now is that the pattayam is missing. Actually, we fear if the property is having pattayam or not. How can we know that if the property is having pattayam. If not, how can we get a new pattayam.

Where is the question of pattayam when, admittedly, the land was purchased? Obviously, the transaction ought to have been through a registered deed. If the deed is missing, you may take search in the Sub-registrar office.
