Challenging my sale deed( ownership)

26-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
I bought a property From Mr “A”and got it registered and paid him money for it ... Mr “ A” had ownership of this property as his father gifted him this property in 2005 as a registered gift deed. Now his father is challenging my ownership by saying “ Gift deed was made in 2005 and want it to be revoked as he is a super senior citizen now ” ... Please tell, can his father now challenge my ownership as I m the current owner of the property.

No, Your status qua as to ownership can not be challenged as per law. You being a bonafide person and a honest purchaser to the property, purchased it. Therefore, your title as to the ownership to the property can not be challenged. However, you mentioned that he is a senior citizen and he might be utilizing the provisions of senior citizen act, 2007 but that also can not be considered applicable in this case as Gift deed once executed, is irrevocable. If he has filed for cancellation of instruments under section 31 of SRA,1963. Effective defense has to be made to that effect.
