31-May-2025 (In Property Law)
Hi, my self ishwar patil, in the year of 1948 my grandfather's land was illegally registered by someone with forgery signature of my grandfather. so, now can I regain that land ?
To regain the land, you can consider the following
steps:
• Gather Evidence: Collect documents proving
your grandfather's ownership and the alleged
forgery, such as:
Original sale deed: If available, the original
sale deed or any other document showing
your grandfather's ownership.
o Witness statements: Statements from
relatives, family friends, or neighbors who
can attest to your grandfather's ownership
and the alleged forgery.
• File a Civil Suit: Approach the civil court with
jurisdiction over the land, seeking:
o Declaration of title: A declaration that your
grandfather was the rightful owner of the
land.
Cancellation of forged deed: Cancellation of
the forged deed and restoration of the land
to your family's ownership.
Limitation Period: Be aware of the limitation
period for filing a suit, which may vary
depending on the specific circumstances and
applicable laws.
Consult a Lawyer: Engage a lawyer specializing
in property law to guide you through the
process, help gather evidence, and represent
you in court.
