Can borther claim the rights in property if he lived for 30 years

My husband's brother is living in his property since 30 years. The land and house is in his name and we gave it to them out of courtsey. Can they or their kids claim ownership of house ?

They can claim possession as well as ownership in the house. However, the same can be done only if their possession has been hostile. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

Dear client based on your question, previously we need to know whether the property is self acquired or ancestral property. If your brother in law is residing in the property he may claim ownership under adverse possession. For More information contact us.
