Can a brother claim share in elder brother's self acquired property

Hi, I have purchased flat with my own finance.I have finance from one bank and paying EMI.Is there any Indian rule which tells my elder brother can claim .Your reply would be great help.

No.. He can claim Only in the case when the owner of the prpery dies before marriage, without legitimate or illegitimate child, without any other siblings and parents alive, and no one else in close relationship to claim that property, and there is no will left behind.

As because it is your self acquired property and the same has been purchased out of your own funds,so your elder brother does not possess any right over the same and can't claim in any manner legally.

As you have purchased this property out of your pocket, it is self-acquired property and hence, your brother has no right to claim in this property
