Builder Charging High Electricity Rate.

18-Jun-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, I have bought an affordable flat in Sohna District Gurgaon under PYAY. At the time of booking all kinds of false info was given to me including about the electricity connection. I was assured I will get government electricity connection in my name however now after I have taken possession and moved into my flat, the builder is giving electricity through DG set charging at 6.82 per unit. I also got to know that government electricity connection will be single point and not on individual name. All the residents have fought with the builder over this issue but he is not ready to listen. Please let me know what can be done in this case.

Hello for any false promises by builder and deficiency of services you may approach consumer court for deficiency of services. Builder is bound to obtain to provide electricity to residents from government electricity department/DHBVN, however single point electricity distribution regulations 2013 are applicable on builder but builder need to install dual meter to record electricity supply from government electricity department supply and DG set electricity supply and bill differently. You should send legal notice to builder and also file complaint to DHBVN. Buyer and seller are bound by buyer seller agreement. Please provide complete details for further advice.
