Brother's daughter and wife asking share in money from property sale

Hello Me and my brother has sold ancestral property last year ,money which has come from property has come in one joint account from this money may FD has been made I have purchased one house and my brother has purchased another house separtely Now he has died and out of that money one FD has been left which has been made as either or survivor where first holder is my brother and second holder is me As per FD ,this now belong to me But my brothers daughter (legaly adopted) and his wife claiming that this some money belongs to them also How to proceed ?

This depends on the kind of arrangement entered into between you and your late brother. Although as per the present circumstances the money is in an either or survivor FD account. Thus after your brothers demise it belongs to you only. The daughter or wife of your late brother cannot claim to that money.

Dont complicate the matter and ruin the relationship.
Just give them the share of money which they are entitle of.
Contacting lawyers will lead you Nowhere other than paying fees of advocates.

So give them their share of cash money.
