Associate Membership and Joint ownership based on affidavit.

My brother is the owner of the flat on his name . In 2007 he made an affidavit to include my name jointly in the share certificate and submitted to the society. The society in their MC meeting added my name in the share certificate as jointly with my brother . In the same time, i also was admitted as associate member in 2007 by filing associate membership form. So as per latest provision am i a joint owner or associate member.? please clarify.
If there is no document executed between you and your brother to transfer his half share in the flat in your favour, the you are merely a member of the society and not the owner of the said flat. However, it is imperative to know as to what documents have been submitted to the society at the time of joint ownership. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

you are associate member. you are not a joint owner. neither there is release deed, not there is gift deed whereby your brother has given share to you, in his absence in order to look after the affairs, participate in meeting and do other chores, your name was included

You are not the owner of the flat but have a limited rights within the society.
when your brother cannot excercise his powers then you can exercise the participative right in the administration of the society.
