What is mean by purpose of hearing -Steps

My husband has filled case against me under family court and momidian law section 281.
I was not able to appear in first hearing as I didn’t get notice from. Then I got an email from ecourt for second hearing to appear in person and purpose of notice was mentioned return of notice summons. I was not able to appear for second hearing as well and now on ecourt it’s mentioned the next future date and case stage and under purpose of hearing it is mentioned Steps. What is means?
First date is basically when your case gets registered and second date is where the notice is issued to the opposite party so basically its not a default on your part, you will have to appear on the next date as it is the first summons you have received so basically returns of summons means that if you have accepted the summons or not.
