Release of vehicle from police station

I've submitted the superdari at the court after my car was taken to police station for inspection after an accident causing minor injury to a pedestrian. The court order directs the IO to release vehicle after an indemnity bond of 5 lakh. My vehicle is an old model i10, make of 2015. Its worth is not even half the amount of indemnity asked of me. Can someone explain the point of this bond and if i am required to pay this amount?
