Old lady came infront .. show case notice recived

Hello,
My husband was driving his bike back from office. suddenly old lady came ( due to traffic she moving ahead and backward again and again) so just to save her my husband hit her a little he was more injured .. both 1 hand broken in wrist and other had deep cut.. he even lost his job now .. we paid all medical bill for the lady in hospital. now we recievd a letter of show case notice and a letter by lady also for 10 lakh compensation from 3 party insurance.. will there be any legal issue ?
