Drunk person hit my father's auto, now filing false case on us"

A month ago, my father, an auto driver, was involved in an accident where a drunk person hit his auto and got injured. Now that person has filed a false case against us and is demanding money. We are unsure how to handle this situation legally. What steps should we take to protect ourselves and prove my father's innocence?"
hi if that person had filed a case and if FIR was registered against your father then you could approach court seeking relief to quash the case as it is based on all false allegations and that you were not connected to allegations mentioned in the FIR
