Bike sold but RC not transferred and buyer meet with a deadly accident

Hello,nI have sold my bike to other person on OLX in Jan2020 and handed over the documents so that he can change the registration under his name. That person sold the bike to another person and he meet meet in an accident where the other party had died. Since the RC paper is under my name i have received a notice for the same. The person i sold it to also send me some papers to sign for transfer of the ownership which i signed and gave him back but he didn't change the ownership. The conversation and documents has been misplaced since it was long back. The police has arrested the person driving but the case is registered under my name. What will be implications on this and how can i get it out from this case. I have a very clean record.
you need to show the documents that you sold it to somebody as back as in the year 2020. you need to show the court that now you have no ownership and connection with the vehicle otherwise it will be difficult for you to come out of the case

You have to prove that the said bike was sold to another person and he further sold it to another person. Otherwise you will become vicariously liable for paying compensation if any.
