The incident took place in Ponda Town, 30 kms from Panaji, the capital city of Goa. The accused police constable belonged to the office of Vasco Deputy Superintendent of Police. He convinced her to come along with him on the pretext of dropping her home. However, he took the girl to Ponda where she was raped. The victim was later dropped to her home, in the morning, pursuant to which her mother filed a police complaint.
