SC to hear father's plea in Gurugram Schoolboy murder case
September 11, 2017A seven-year old boy was killed in a toilet of Ryan International School on Friday. The top two officials of the school have been arrested. After the demise of the child, violence erupted during a protest by parents and local residents.
A school bus conductor, Ashok was arrested in this matter who confessed that he tried to sexually assault the boy and killed him by slitting his throat when he resisted.
The Supreme Court agreed on Monday to hear the plea of the father of the seven-year of the victim. Varun Thakur, the father of the child has sought a CBI or special investigation team to probe into the murder of his child.
Varun Thakur's counsel told the bench comprising of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice DY Chandrachud, that they were in the process of filing a petition before the registry.
In the present case, the bench has agreed to admit a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which raised the issue of lack of adequate safety measures in private school across the country.
To resolve this matter, a team of Haryana police is headed to Mumbai to question the management of the school. Following this, even the teachers and staff are questioned by the police. The Haryana Police has formed 14 teams to investigate this case.
