Subjected to stay in Paying Guest as per verbal contract but I have is

07-Mar-2026 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I have been staying in a PG for the past 7 months in Kolkata but I am about to shift to a shared flat. The issue is that there was a verbal agreement with the PG owner that I must stay here for at least 1 year but now due to issues with food and financial problems I plan to shift. When I contacted the PG owner, I was told that it is not possible and I must stay until a year is complete. What action should I take? And can anything be done against me if I refuse to stay?

firstly, let me know is there any security deposit with the owner ? what are issues for which you have planned to leave the PG and what are benefits to shifting to a shared flat are to be informed. before advising on the point of action against you, these must be cleared.
