Police clearance certificate for address where rent agreement is due

Hi,
I need police clearance certificate for my visa application. Now i just moved to my current address 2 months back and since I moved with bachelors the rent agreement for my new address is yet to be done and it's due at this month end. What should I do to prove my residence for these two months where rent agreement was not effective for myself? For the earlier residence I have original address proof.
Also, My permanent address is Surat but I have been living in Mumbai since last 4 years due to my job. So while doing Police clearance certificate which address I should mention?

In Rent agreement to be entered into by you, it can be stated that you are occupying the place since earlier. Passport authorities do insist for strict proof of residence. What other proof is acceptable can be enquired from agent and/or passport office or from website.
