Patta for a land which is registered in 1982.
13-Mar-2025 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Sir namaste. My father buy a land in 1982
But still yet we are not getting a patta of this land due to death of my father. Kabala of this land is in our hand. But in which way we can get a patta of this land. Tahasildar said that this is old case and patta will get from your settlement office. What is the way to get a patta. Please clarify.
Since your father legally acquired the land through a Kabala (registered sale deed), you are entitled to have the Patta updated in your family’s name. Since the Tahasildar has directed you to the Settlement Office, it indicates that the land might still be recorded under old settlement records.
You need to approach the Settlement Office with an application requesting issuance of Patta. The Settlement Officer will verify: a) If the land was surveyed under past settlement processes; b)If it was missed out in previous settlements; c) if it is recorded under incorrect ownership.
