Not giving my deposit back even after calling him 10s of calls daily

09-Sep-2025 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Hey, I was living in Ublock from past 1.5month. I started living their from 18/07/2025 to 31/08/2025. My rent was 12k with 12k deposit in first month. When i left that room i asked for deposit money from my owner and he said he will provide me but he only gave me 5000 and now he is not picking up my calls not responding to my message. I called him like 10 to 15times a day and messages like 10 to 15 every single day just to get my money back. Still he is not picking up my calls.

Hello, In this situation you can first serve a legal notice to your landlord, calling upon him to immediately refund the security deposit. If despite service of the notice the landlord fails to return the amount, then the next appropriate step would be to file a recovery suit before the competent civil court for claiming the security deposit along with interest and costs. This way you will have both a formal record of your demand as well as a legal remedy to ensure recovery.

You may file a written legal notice to your landlord demanding refund of the balance deposit. If he still fails, you can approach the Rent Controller/Civil Court for recovery with interest and damages.

Hi, In such a situation, we can send a notice to the landlord demanding the balance security amount. If the landlord still doesn’t respond, we can file a recovery suit before the appropriate court to claim the balance amount along with interest. For proper evaluation and next steps, kindly contact our office with the relevant documents.
