Mental Harassment By Landlord and cancellation of agreement

11-Feb-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
We entered into an agreement in January, and by the end of the month he said he wishes to sell his office/shop, so we must look for an alternate. We have signed the agreement with another party and are shifting there on 11th feb but that's not the point. We wish to teach him a lesson. Why did he enter into agreement when he had plans to get the property vacated in a month? So much wastage of time, energy and money. We are two partners.

Hello, I can understand the phase of mental, physical and financial stress in shifting from one place to another. But the thing is that , owner has all right to enjoy his property as and when required. Now you want to teach the owner a lesson for that purpose you have to share the copy of your rent agreement between you two partner and the owner so that a well and suitable legal advice be provided to you for your satisfaction.

If you had a rent agreement with your earlier landlord then, you will have to go through the clauses of the agreement. By law he was required to provide a notice a month prior. Thus, he can be charged with breach of contract hence, he will have to provide the compensation.
