House rent agreement between mother in law and daughter in law

A *hindu* woman has self acquired house. Her daughter in law working in a public sector bank. An rent agreement is made between woman and daughter in law and submitted to bank. Bank is paying housing allowances as per rule to woman. Daughter in law is residing in the house. This rental income is assessed under IT law and woman is paying tax on this rental income regularly. 1. This is legal agreement? 2. A woman can let out her self acquired property to her daughter in law.?

Yes, this is a legal agreement. A women can let out the self acquired house to her daughter in law. . As per The Married Woman Property Act, 1874 , the wages and earning of any married woman acquired or gained by her after passing of this act , in any employment, occupation or trade carried out by her and not by her husband is to be treated as her separate property.
