Enclosing the verandah of my house

I have enclosed my verandah in 1992 with my old landlord verbal permission. I have construction material bills of 1992. Now my new landlord from 2011 has filed a eviction case under section 16 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act 1999. The Maharashtra Rent Control Act came in existence from 2000 if I am not wrong.
My question is can my new landlord file a case of eviction under Maharashtra Rent Control Act 1999
Ofcourse, a new Landlord can file a case under the concerned provisions of the Maharashtra Rent Control, Act, 1999. Landlord can file a case on the basis of his bonafide requirement and certain other factors.
