Can a flat owner legally demand ₹1000 for AMC (Annual Maintenance Char

19-Jul-2025 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Can a flat owner legally demand ₹1000 for AMC (Annual Maintenance Charges) from my friend if it was not mentioned in the rental agreement? Also, is it lawful for the owner to ask her to vacate the flat just because she refused to pay this amount which was never agreed upon in writing?

As per your first question, the answer is no the flat owner cannot demand any arbitrary amount unless specifically mentioned in agreement. For the second question, Yes the owner can have her evicted but only after giving a months notice (whatever time is mentioned in agreement). If you have any doubt feel free to contact me.
