Dear sir Regarding above subject í have to say that I am making a home in jamshedpur. but suddenly he asked higher wage @ rate of rs 220/square feet during construction work when I asked that we have talked @ rate of rs170/square feet then he denied to work I have already paid him rs280000 till now. There is no contract between him and me but he is threatening me that I will suite case against you in civil court as well as criminal court and he also sent me legal notice. unfortunately my father received that letter. But at present I am not sending any reply. Dear sir I want to know that what should I do Please suggest me

it is not always essential to reply a legal notice however it could be an important document for future references.
the purpose of a pleaders notice and its rejoinder is just to show that a proper communication has been taken place between the parties.

Non sending reply might have adverse consequences. However, in your facts it is worth taking a risk.Before he files a case, file a case in the State Consumer Commission. That will help you a lot. Get payment receipts and all documents.
