Resignation without appointment letter and unannounced leave

23-Feb-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I was working as Assistant Professor in a private college, I never received any appointment letter. I was just given a offer letter which said I have got selected for the job simply. They have collected my original certificates. After 1 week unannounced leave, the college asked me to join duty immediately or else action will be taken as per norms. I don't know any of their norms. can I now post my resignation letter? Is there any legal issue in it. Kindly assist.

Sir,

1. You have to check the offer letter given by the company whether they have mentioned terms conditions in it.
2. Leave without information, company has the right to ask explanation from as per their policy and if that is not satisfactory ( since you have joined week before) and your not in the position to join duty you suppose to send resignation letter by speed post with acknowledgement due.
3. Sending resignation will not be a issue, but on what basis you have submitted all you have your original certificates.( whether any documents you have signed. please check...( also any employer / institution should not have the right to hold any employees originals for offering job and also refuse to give while leaving the job)
