Notice period recovery if an employee doesn't serve notice period.

25-Apr-2025 (In Labour & Service Law)
I joined a school as a teacher and left it within a week due to health issues. My offer letter/email doesn't mention anything about notice period or resignation. I got a mail that says "No Due Clearance (NDC) process has been completed by all stakeholders. Please initiate the full and final settlement process." The HR is asking me for recovery now after I received this email. They didn't pay me for that week I went.

It is imperative to know as to what recovery is the organization is seeking from you. Also, how can an appointment letter be issued without mentioning the notice period. It would be incorrect to seek recovery from you. Also, the organization must pay you for your services for a week at least. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

Well, I need to scrutinize your Employment Contract which you have executed with the School while joining them. After such scrutiny, I will be able to inform you, that, whether you owe any liability to your previous Employer or not!
