Under Karnataka law and established High Court rulings, the caste and parental income of a married woman—not her husband's income—must be considered for category and reservation certificates for employment. The authorities demanding your spouse's income proof are legally incorrect. Legal Position: The High Court of Karnataka has repeatedly clarified that a woman's caste is determined by birth and her non-creamy layer/income status for job reservations must rely on her parents' financial status. Next Authority: If the local revenue authorities still refuse, you can file a writ petition before the Karnataka High Court for compliance and issuance.
