Legal advice: Wrongful termination & Non-payment of 60 days notice pay

12-Aug-2026 (In Labour & Service Law)
I was terminated on 15 July 2026 with immediate effect citing "gross misconduct". Incident: I rang a smart doorbell during tea break. 3 employees were terminated based on doorbell camera. 1 was later rehired. My contract has 60 days notice period but company is refusing to pay it. Please advise: 1. Is this termination valid given the reason and inconsistent action? 2. Am I entitled to 60 days notice salary? 3. Best remedy: Labour complaint or legal notice?

The termination can be challenged if “gross misconduct” is disproportionate to the alleged incident and no fair disciplinary inquiry was conducted. Your 60-day notice pay may be claimable if the contract guarantees it, subject to the misconduct/termination clause. Start with a legal notice, and if you qualify as a “workman,” consider a labour/industrial dispute remedy for reinstatement or compensation.

First send a legal notice then only proceed with conciliation, look into your termination clause and if you have documentary evidence supporting your 60 days notice, you will have to put it in the legal notice relying on the same
