How do I break service agreement of two years got better job option

24-Aug-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I've joined an IT company recently as a fresher. I've not even received my first salary. Now, I've got a much much better opportunity and want to leave. There's a bond agreement of ?2,00,000/-. What should I do? What if abscond or any advice? Will there be any legal consequences against me?

If you have signed a bond, you will have to comply with the terms and conditions mentioned therein. As far as your particular case is concerned an appropriate advice can be given only when you provide a copy of the terms of your employment as well as the bond signed by you.

There must be a clause in your employment agreement stipulating that in case you wish to leave the company, you will have to provide notice to the company some months in advance (it could be anything between a month to three). So if you leave the company without informing them, you in effect abscond and the company may proceed against you to recover the damages for leaving the service without serving the notice to do so upon them as also the bond amount of Rs. 2 lacs. But generally companies who approach Courts in scenario such as yours claiming damages and bond amount do no see a lot of success. So, you go ahead and grab the better opportunity that has come your way; but to do after returning all the company belongings and after tendering an information in writing to them.
