Employee punished under section 303 what should the department do

An employee working in a govt. organization has been punished under section 303 ipc. What action should the department take? should the department suspend him?
303. Punishment for murder by life-convict.—Whoever, being under sentence of 1[imprisonment for life], commits murder, shall be punished with death.
Firstly: the section itself says that the person is a convict and already undergoing punishment. he is not entitled to his job and govt. employees lose their job if convicted. how can you suspend him. his employment should have already been terminated.
