Can employer ask employee to file an FIR on behalf of company

20-Jan-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I am an employee of private organization. My employer had bought property which was not handed over by the real estate company. My employer wants me to go and file an FIR on behalf of his company. Is this legal and will it cause me to be involved in any future litigation?

Yess employee is the agent of the company and employee can lodge fir on behalf of company . But make sure the application to lodge Fir must be on company s letter head and you will have sign as person holding competent post and designation not as private person.

Ask your employer to make a specific power of attorney in your favor for signing this particular case and attending proceedings and should contain clause that in event of your resignation from Company your responsibility shall be removed. Without this do not attend case.
