Life Insurance Premium Forefeited

I am an NRI and recently found out that my 88 year old father had opened a few life insurance policies in 2019/20 with TATA AIA with me as the insured and he as the policy holder. Then Covid happened and post that his health deteriorated and he passsed away in 2022. Now, the insurance company says that first year paid is Forefeited as the policies lapsed due to non payment of yearly premiums. The family had no info of these policies and my father at 89 must have forgotten to tell us about these.
we can go ahead and evaluate the document and terms and conditions of the policy.
then we shall proceed with the consumer forum for the non compliance by the insurance company. kindly coordinate with us for further discussion.
