IPC 85 in Simple Words
In simple words, Section 85 of the Indian Penal Code states that if a person is intoxicated to the extent that they cannot understand the nature of their actions or that they are doing something wrong or illegal, then their actions may not be considered an offense, unless the intoxication was involuntary.
Involuntary intoxication under IPC section 85 If the poison was administered without the individual's knowledge or against his/her will, then the offender cannot be held responsible for the crime committed.
