if Indian coin — and if the coin to be counterfeited is Indian coin, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
IPC 235 in Simple Words
In simple words, Section 235 of the Indian Penal Code states that if someone is found in possession of any instrument or material meant for counterfeiting coins or if they know or have reason to believe it's intended for counterfeiting, they can be imprisoned for up to three years and fined. If the coin to be counterfeited is Indian coin, the punishment can be imprisonment for up to ten years and fine.
