How can I get extension in b1/b2 visa

04-Jul-2023 (In Immigration Law)
i want to know that is it ok to tell the interviewer that i might need a stay extension while i am in the USA. The reason i ask that is because there is a possibility of me failing the cpa exams. I would like to stay there and finish all of my exams before i come back to India. So there is a chance that i will have to reschedule my exams which might not fit in the initial 6 month window of my stay. (A person visiting on a b1/b2 visa is initially allowed to stay for 6 months.)

You may opt for a student visa rather than a b1/b2 category visa.
If you tell this to the interviewer on your b1b2 application that you might need to extend your stay then there are 100% chances of getting your B1b2 application rejected.

You should not disclose your attention of extending your stay in the United States at the time of Consular interview.

Once you get the visa, and are in the U.S., you can extend your stay for another six (6) months.

Note that, if approved, you will get a 10 year multiple entry B-1/B-2 visa application which you can use to enter the U.S later, if required.
